Ethanolamine is a colorless, viscous liquid with an odor reminiscent to that of ammonia.

It is used as feedstock in the production of detergents, emulsifiers, polishes, pharmaceuticals, corrosion inhibitors, chemical intermediates.

Application:

Monoethanolamine (MEA) is used as feedstock in the production of detergents, emulsifiers, polishes, pharmaceuticals, corrosion inhibitors, and chemical intermediates.

MEA is also a weak base and hence it is used widely in gas scrubbing. MEA can scrub combusted coal, combusted methane and combusted biogas fuel emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) very efficiently.
